So long, farewell, adios and goodbye!

Dear Miami,

We can’t thank you enough for welcoming us with open arms. South Florida’s response to Montaco was overwhelming! From day one at Art Basel (w/our friends at Creative Time) to The Food & Wine Festival (kudos to Andrew Zimmern) to everyday vending with the wealth of Food trucks that sprung up over the months, our experience here has been quite the adventure!

We were a lonely little truck on the beaches of Montauk, but here in Florida we became a part of a beautiful family, a united and strong group of Food Truckers. Thank you to all.

Alas the time has come to say goodbye. This email finds me a bit sad to say goodbye to beautiful Florida and all the amazing fans who supported us along the way. But, are fans up north have already started requesting our presence and we must oblige.

Taco Take-Off starts NOW! Our last day on the road will be this Saturday, April 17th. Please check out our online schedule for locations of tasty Mexican treats made with love.

xoxo

Mars (aka Taco Gypsy)

P.S. Special thanks to our friends: Jack (Jefe’s), Richard Hales (Dim Ssam A Go Go), Kevin (Caza Crepes), Jim Heins (Latin Burger), David ( Fish Box), Nati (Dolce Peccati), Steve (WiseGuys), Allison & Bill (Wing Commander), Ben (The Stage), Thomas (Electric Pickle), Bridges (GAB Studios), Chelsea & Alex (Launch Arte), Bayfront Park, Brian and Fatima (Ms. Cheezious), Magic City Casino, BURGER BEAST!

BEHIND THE SCENES PICS From South Beach Food and Wine Festival

We went out to Best Thing I Ever Ate on Beach party and Robert Irvine, Duff Goldman, Scott Conant, Jeffrey Zakarian, Daniel Boloud, Sunny Anderson, Marcela (the smoking hot one from Cooking Channel) and 20 other chefs tried desperately to make a dish that even approached our charcoal kissed fish tacos in blue corn tortilla with cabbage salad and steamed corn dredged in queso blanco, lime and chiles. They couldn’t. My buddies at Montaco (www.montaco.tumblr.com) came down from NY and kicked ass all over that party. The truck winters in Miami, summers up north and is one of the best food trucks in America and I am blessed that they helped me out and made me look so good. If there was a peoples choice award, we would have owned it 10 minutes after the party started. I was so proud of all the Montaco folks. They killed it.” - Andrew Zimmern
South Beach Food & Wine

Hola Taco Fans,

Sorry for the delay in posting, Miami truck rallies have been keeping us very busy!  We want to thank everyone who came out to the South Beach Food and Wine Festival.  A very special thanks to The Food Network, Best Thing I Ever Ate and of course Andrew Zimmern.

Andrew chose Montaco’s Fish Taco as his “Best Thing I Ever Ate At The Beach”.  This is a huge honor and we are delighted to be in such an elite group of talent.

The event was so much fun, we even got Dwayne Wade to try a taco!

Over time we have started to refer to the Montaco truck as the “little truck that could” and on this night, she did.

Here’s are a few pics from the event!

Paz, Amor, Tacos,

Mars

We luv us some Pickle late nite…Electric Pickle that is! Great peeps, music, and booze - Wynwood is the way to go. You better take a disco nap first though, this place is all about the late night party!  Look for the pink truck on Fridays & Saturdays for your taco fix after dark.

Montaco represents during Art Basel alongside Miami Food Truck natives Gastropod and The Fish Box at Oceanfront Exhibits by Creative Time…by the lines at Collins Park I would say Miami was in need of the Pink Truck and her taco lovin crew!

Gracias to Mimi and Fam for taking the crew in for the holiday.  We were welcomed with a taste of Thanksgiving southern style - you know we’ll be back for more of those collards!

The pink truck wasn’t the only one who faltered along the way. Poor El camino wasn’t leaving NC anytime soon!

Our little pink lady had a few minor bumps along the road but she’s a tough be-atch and powered thru

The Pink Truck experiences 17 miles of Atlantic and waives good-bye to the Northeast

Montaco hits the road for Miami. Time to take the training wheels off and see how this baby can really ride
